Message from the President for the 2024-2025 Academic Year

Theme: Nurturing Legacy, Fostering Growth: Building a Sustainable Future Together

As we commence another academic year at Bethel Bible College of the Caribbean, I would like to extend a warm welcome to the entire Bethel family—our board, staff, faculty, students, alumni, leaders of the New Testament Church of God in Jamaica, and external stakeholders. This year promises to be a pivotal one as we continue our journey of growth and transformation. Our theme for the 2024-2025 academic year, "Nurturing Legacy, Fostering Growth: Building a Sustainable Future Together," calls on us to reflect on Bethel’s remarkable legacy while also focusing on shaping a bright future filled with opportunities for all.

For over 80 years, Bethel has been a foundational institution in theological education, nurturing generations of Christian leaders across Jamaica, the wider Caribbean, North America, the United Kingdom, and elsewhere. As we celebrate this outstanding legacy, we are fully aware that to continue making a meaningful impact, we must foster growth across all areas of the College. This year, our focus is on expanding student enrolment, enhancing our financial stability, increasing academic output, broadening our range of programmes, and extending our reach and influence locally and globally.

Our path forward requires innovation, collaboration, agility, and a firm commitment to sustainability. We are implementing strategic measures to ensure that Bethel remains strong and vibrant, even amidst the challenges faced by higher education institutions today. The expansion of our academic offerings, the strengthening of partnerships, and the enhancement of student support services are all key strategies to ensure that Bethel continues to flourish and fulfil its mission of serving the Church and society.

To our students, both current and prospective: this is an exciting time to be part of the Bethel community. We are committed to providing an environment where your spiritual, academic, and personal growth is nurtured. Bethel offers you a place to discover your calling, develop your potential, and prepare to make a lasting impact on the world. Whether you are just starting your studies or returning to continue your academic journey, we are honoured to support you as you pursue the purpose God has placed on your life.

To our valued stakeholders: your continued support remains essential to our progress. Whether through financial contributions, prayer, or the sharing of expertise, your partnership enables Bethel to grow and thrive. Together, we can ensure that this noble institution remains a pillar of Christian theological education and a source of spiritual development and academic excellence for many years to come.

As we move forward through this academic year, let us keep our legacy in view, recognising the incredible contributions of those who have built Bethel over the past 80 years. At the same time, let us focus on fostering growth in all areas, ensuring that BBCC-J is equipped for a sustainable future and ready to embrace the opportunities that await.

Thank you for being part of this important journey. I look forward to all that we will accomplish together in this season of growth and possibility.

Blessings,
Rev. Dr. Earlmont M. M. Williams
